  1. Tune up. Use standard guitar tuning: E A D G B e, with no capo.
  2. Connect your sound. Allow microphone access, then choose your microphone or interface. Headphones help keep the backing sound out of your input.
  3. Pick your practice. Melody teaches the uploaded tab; rhythm teaches its D and G chords with a bass–strum pattern.
  4. Follow the orange line. Play each note or strum as it crosses the line. A four-beat count-in gets you ready. Arrows on each tile suggest stroke direction: ↓ down on beats, ↑ up on offbeats. Rhythm uses downstrokes for its bass–strum pattern. Direction is a playing guide; recognition scores pitch and timing. The e lane is your thinnest string.
  5. Learn the colors. Every note has its own color, running the spectrum from A in red to G in violet. Notes a half step apart sit side by side on the rainbow, and the same note in any octave always looks the same. Hit notes turn pale green; missed ones turn muted red.

Practice loops with optional bass-and-strum backing and no points. Play awards 100 points for Perfect timing or 70 for Good, multiplied by tempo (BPM ÷ 80) and your combo (up to 4×). Every 10 consecutive hits raises the combo; a missed note resets it. Play uses Easy (60 BPM), Medium (90 BPM), and Hero (120 BPM). Hit at least 80% of all notes in a complete live run to unlock the next difficulty. High scores and unlocks are saved in this browser; each guitar part and difficulty has its own full-tune top 10. Play always runs the full 32-bar AABB tune; choose A or B separately in Practice. Adjust BPM freely in Practice. Try “Hear the tune first” to listen first. Without a microphone, free practice still runs, but only live input earns points. Chord recognition is experimental; clean, separated strums work best.
